In my 18-year career as a speech therapist, I have always been passionate about bringing communication to kids who otherwise wouldn't have a voice. After spending several years at CHIME Charter, a nationally recognized “flagship” inclusive school, I founded Steers AAC to specialize in helping children who live in complex bodies communicate. I’m proud to be the only Certified PODD Trainer west of Colorado and have had the incredible privilege of learning from my mentor, world-renowned AAC expert Linda Burkhart.

I believe every child is capable, and I work hard to help others see the intelligence and potential in every learner— especially those who are often underestimated. For me, AAC is about more than just access to words. It’s about helping others know how cool, snarky, sarcastic, sweet, caring, considerate, kind, or just plain hilarious a child is. I love getting to know the children with whom I work on this level, and I feel so fortunate to help them reveal their unique personalities!

My team takes a collaborative and family-centered approach to speech therapy. The best outcomes happen when families, educators, and therapists all work together, and we look forward to joining you on this journey.
